I love Asian BBQ. I say Asian bbq because I enjoy both Japanese and Korean bbq a whole lot. This place is a Japanese bbq restaurant and we happened to come here back in 2017 for my birthday. It was one of Kellyne’s picks back then, still is one of her favorites, and now it’s one of mine. This restaurant has a large menu. It’s kind of overwhelming but, we let Kellyne take the lead. We did know that previously that had an unlimited menu, which meant you could order whatever you wanted and it was a great way to try the different meats, veggies, and other side dishes.
It was pretty late when we got here so that also meant it was happy hour. There was another huge menu that has happy hour prices marked on it, but the premium unlimited menu, although limited in selections compared to the larger menu, was still the better choice for us. You’re able to order 6 of each item at a time, you must eat it all or at least close or they charge you, and you’re able to order more if you want. We ended up ordering the following for the starters: gyoza, edamame, namuru, tempura cauliflower, kim-chee, and the cheese wontons. The meat options we picked were toro beef, yaki-shabu beef, kobe style nakaochi rib, bistro hanger steak miso, rosu, and filet minion. The vegetables we ordered were the corn, onion, zucchini, eggplant, and potatoes. All accompanied with rice.
Our food came out quickly and we were ready. Fried green beans ended up on our table and we had to remind them that we had ordered cauliflower instead, which was fixed right away. Once the items come out, you are free to eat the ready to eat items and start grilling the items that need grilled. I love the grilling aspect of this meal, it’s really fun and the food turns out great. Some of the items come in a foil packet, the corn and potatoes. The tempura cauliflower is so delicious with the sauce that they put on them. The other vegetables were fresh and flavorful when grilled. Not too long after, the meat started to show up.
The meat is marinated in different seasonings and flavorings. The restaurant also has 3 sauces that are on the tables: a sweet, a sesame, and a spicy sauce. After each meat is grilled, dip them in the different sauces and try them out. I still can decide which was my favorite. At any rate, it was time to grill!
The meat was great, lots of flavor and lots of different options. It does take a decent amount of time but it’s so worth it. It’s a great way to find out what type of meat you like and to explore the menu. It’s a lot of fun to grill your own food and not have to clean up the mess too! And to finish off the meal, s’mores!
Check this place out if there’s one near you. It’s a neat place and tons of options for all kinds of people’s preferences. The service was great and the food was delicious. Check it out as there’s a lot of different locations.
