Rooftop Pizzeria is near the busy plaza in the heart of Santa Fe. I’ve had pizza from here as a pick up before but this was our first time at this location to eat in. The restaurant is on the top floor of a mini mall like setting off the plaza. We made our way to this place after a hike and trip to the farmers markets. Both activities are very popular in Santa Fe. We chose to sit on the patio outside to enjoy the day and the beautiful weather.

After browsing the menu, we decided on the bruschetta for our appetizer. The bruschetta was a heaping mound of deliciousness. The bread was crispy but just enough so that it wasn’t hard as a rock. The basil was fresh and the acidity and sweetness from the balsamic glaze were a great accompaniment. This bruschetta was fresh and full of flavor with lots of fresh ingredients.

For the entrees we ordered the #4- smoked duck, caper, spinach, basil, four cheese, roast garlic spread on an artisan crust. We also ordered a half pasta/half salad lunch combo with the sausage rotini and the Cobb salad. The Cobb salad was the whole salad and an up-charge since it wasn’t the included salad for the lunch combo.

Our food came out fairly quickly and was quite impressive to look at. The pasta was very spicy and had a lot of flavor, but was too spicy for me. The salad was delicious and very fresh. It was also huge and we took home at least half, if not more.

The duck pizza was incredibly rich. Almost too rich for me as it need some acidity to break it up. I’ve previously had their #1- fresh mozzarella, sliced ripe tomatoes, basil, roast garlic spread on an artisan crust and their #6- artichoke hearts, Kalamata olives, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, goat cheese, roast garlic spread on a blue corn crust. Both pizza’s were fantastic, even as to go orders that had sat for a bit of time. The #4 duck pizza however, needed something to break up the flavor and it could be fantastic.

The pizza is pretty good here, even if this new one I tried won’t be something I order again. The salads were massively sized and very fresh and flavorful. The pasta was prepared well, albeit a bit to spicy for me. I would absolutely come back here and try some of their other foods without hesitation.
